full-scale product development project — combining industrial design, technical engineering, material sourcing, and real-world manufacturing strategy into one complete system.

I was brought in to lead the project from the ground up, developing not only the visual direction and structural identity of the product, but also the complete production-ready framework behind it. From early concept sketches and canopy architecture to technical dielines, construction layouts, hardware integration, and full tech pack development, every detail was engineered with manufacturing and long-term durability in mind.

The project required extensive coordination across multiple overseas factories and vendors, balancing production capabilities, material options, fabrication methods, and cost efficiencies to determine the best path forward for the client. I worked directly with manufacturing teams through sampling, prototyping, and construction revisions — helping refine everything from inflatable chamber structures and drop-stitch materials to attachment systems, carry solutions, waterproof fabrics, welded seams, and accessory integration.

Beyond the design itself, the role became deeply consultative — guiding the client through factory selection, production communication, structural problem solving, and product scalability. Every phase was approached through the lens of both creativity and execution: ensuring the product not only looked innovative, but could actually be manufactured efficiently, assembled easily, transported cleanly, and survive real-world outdoor use.

This project reflects the type of work I specialize in as a Creative Director — bridging the gap between concept and production by combining design vision, technical packaging and product development knowledge, overseas manufacturing communication, and real-world operational experience into one streamlined process.
